The reason why I'...Glad you pointed that out!

The reason why I'm skeptical is because, like the Earth and anything in the universe, stars move over time [albeit slowly] and thus will change the "shape" of the constellation -- though I must note that, as you know, constellations are arbitrarily drawn. We can see this change when looking at a stars' proper motion.

I think this provides better visuals lol: https://autos.yahoo.com/big-dipper-changed-change-over-143057563.html

So yeah, how would Taurus, the Pleiades, and Orion's Belt be in positions that we recognize today if they move? The stars that make up the "Belt" may have not been next to each other at the time of the cave painting.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7760124847746733855.post-84379111648191273902020-05-16T16:39:21.721-06:002020-05-16T16:39:21.721-06:00They hid underground and in caves because there we...They hid underground and in caves because there were flaming bollides raining down from the skies destroying everything in proximity.

Considering the Tunguska air-burst object originated from the Beta-Taurid meteorstream, it would certainly seem reasonable that these ancients would focus on this area of the sky and represent it in their records. Not to mention how many civilisations later had quite the obsession with the bull (the Minoans, ancient Egyptians, the Indians to this day still revere the cow). Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
